Reading lesson: Learning objectives and outcomes

The most common outcome of a university education is a job in an intellectual profession where it is important to find and filter relevant information. Time is crucial, i.e., finding information in the shortest possible time, and knowledge of databases is essential, in addition to freely available content on the Internet.

A brief overview of library history and a basic knowledge of libraries are important both for understanding how libraries have entered the digital age and to understand the terminology used in the course material. However, the backbone of the curriculum is practical library use, database skills and academic writing methodology to achieve our aim: to demonstrate the most effective ways of acquiring information and transforming it into an academic format.
